Internal Acid Cleaning

Our inhibited acid cleaning process clears the roll's internal flow passages while protecting the base metal from attack. This approach selectively attacks calcified deposits from the inside surface of the roll's outer shell, thereby improving the roll's heat transfer performance. By piping low-pH inhibited acid through the roll at high velocity, we chemically remove an "invisible" yet debilitating problem. As a result, our customers can maintain maximum production line speeds. Acid cleaning is best used as a preventative measure to keep "hot spots" from forming in the presence of "hard" cooling water. Once a "hot spot" has formed, it may be difficult or impossible to remove. If your cooling water system is subject to calcium deposits, regular acid cleaning is recommended to insure good thermal performance and acceptable roll life.
