Surfaces available include various roughnesses of precision ground rolls as well as commercial belt polished finishes.

We also offer special finishes that include Mirror, Optical Mirror, Matte, Satin, and Shot Peened surfaces.

Measuring a surface finish:
Metal surface finishes are typically defined in terms of Ra or RMS. The RMS (root mean square roughness) of a given surface typically runs about 10 % higher than its Ra (average roughness) In English units 10 Ra is approximately equal to 11 RMS and for many applications the two units of measure are used interchangeably. Either of these terms can also be expressed in metric units. For example 10 Ra in inches is equal to .25 Ra in mm or .27 RMS in mm.

Finish the roll in bearings to go from box to line in minimum time.

It is important to note, that alternate finishing processes can be used to create a given Ra finish and that the method of finishing determines the pattern of the roughness, and can have a significant impact on how the roll surface performs in a given application.
