INDUSTRIAL HARD CHROMIUM PLATING
Roll Technology's advantage in hard chromium plating can be summed up in two words : QUALITY CONTROL. Our industry leading processes yield optimum hardness (68-70 Rc as deposited), purity, and maximum bond strength of the chromium's adherence to the roll's base metal.

We provide ultra precision roll grinding and finishing services on an International basis.

When our customer's specifications call for relieving hydrogen entrapment, rolls proceed from our chromium plating tanks to a computer controlled oven. Here a computer program dictates the proper ramp-up cycle to remove any entrapped hydrogen without damaging the bond between the chromium and the base metal due to unacceptable differential thermal expansion.

Deliberate temperature control and state-of-the-art instrumentation ensure high quality hard chromium plating.

Our seven hard chromium plating tanks can accommodate rolls and drums to the following sizes:

  • Up to 30" in diameter x 200" overall length with weight up to 10,000 lbs.
  • Up to 48" in diameter x 60" face and 140" overall length with weight up to 15,000 lbs.

Base metal materials commonly hard chromium plated include:

  • Carbon Steel (all grades)
  • Stainless Steel
  • Cast Iron
  • Copper
  • Chilled Iron

We do not plate on aluminum substrates.
