How Precision Roll Satin Finishing Is Achieved

Achieving a consistent satin finish for industrial rollers starts with preparing the base metal surface. The roll face is blasted with abrasive media. The grit size and blast pressure determine the resulting surface profile and Ra value. Once the target texture is established in the base metal, a thin layer of hard chromium is applied, locking in the surface topography while imparting hardness and corrosion resistance.
